Our first charity, Charlotte Family Housing, is a Charlotte focused charity whose mission is “to empower homeless families to achieve long-term self-sufficiency through shelter, housing, supportive services, and advocacy.” They are a shelter-to-housing program for homeless families, who build and encourage self-sufficiency in their families to affect long-term change. Their primary client is madeup is single mothers with children, but they additionally serve both single fathers with children, as well as two-parent families. Their motto is “working to solve family homelessness” and we look forward to raising money for them this year to help them take a step further in that goal.

Our second charity, RescuedMe, is a Charlotte-area animal rescue whose mission is “to provide education, prevention, intervention, and adoption services to ensure that lost or abandoned dogs enjoy long, healthy lives in loving, safe, appropriate homes.” They have fostering programs as well as adoption events, and strive to rescue animals from kill shelters. They are one of many animal rescues in Charlotte, but one of the few that is non-breed specific. We look forward to help them “helping dogs that would otherwise have no hope of survival” with proceeds from this year’s festival.
Our third charity, On Eagle’s Wings, is a Charlotte area charity that is unique even on the national scale, in that they are a charity helping victims of human trafficking – and focuses on 12-18 year olds. Their mission is “to prevent females from falling victim to sex trafficking, offer assistance to those still trapped, and restore those that have survived by offering hope, empowerment, and a brighter future. We focus on prevention, outreach, aftercare, and empowerment.” Their Founder/Executive Director has even received awards from the FBI and a Trafficking Task Force – showing their dedication to this heart-wrenching cause beyond just being one of the first shelters for young US victims of trafficking. We look forward to helping them with their prevention, outreach, aftercare and empowerment programs.
